Prenups Demystified: Protecting Love and Finances
with Aaron Thomas, Esq.

Most students don’t think about prenuptial agreements—but they’re more relevant than you might imagine! Yes, I know that no one in a relationship typically likes to discuss prenups, which is why now is the perfect time to discuss them and have an open mind. Whether it’s protecting assets, addressing debts, or planning for the future, understanding prenups is about making informed choices—not just for today, but for the long term.

That’s why we’re bringing in Aaron Thomas, Esq., founder of Prenups.com, to break down what a prenup really is and how it can be a practical, empowering tool. Aaron is a nationally recognized attorney passionate about reshaping how we think about financial planning in relationships. His engaging approach simplifies complex legal concepts, making them accessible to everyone.

In this session, Aaron will:

  • Define prenuptial agreements and why they exist
  • Explain why people choose prenups (and it’s not just about money!)
  • Debunk common myths and misconceptions
  • Outline the process of creating a prenup
  • Discuss when a prenup might make sense for different situations
With real-life examples and clear guidance, this session is perfect for sparking meaningful discussions and helping students understand the value of planning ahead.

You can use the included Student Activity Document to help keep students engaged and focused on the major talking points of the interview.

This is part of the Personal Finance Guest Speaker Series which you can find the rest of at www.youtube.com/@fieducator
